Club News – May 2nd

Hi All,

Last Saturday 7;30 am start…..after the holiday weekend we will be moving to 7 am starts on Sat, Sun remains at 8 am.Enjoy the lie in…

Bank holiday means a Monday ride, routes are up, Monday starts at 8 am.

If you haven’t ordered kit yet, please do so. The order will close on the 9th and its unlikely we will order more jerseys until spring next year and at a much higher price…..If you don’t have club colours in your wardrobe, please get some, we look so much better when we all wear club kit and at the same time, are given more respect by passing vehicles, which isn’t a bad thing.

Velodrome trip on June 1st, great fun, if you havent tried it, give it a go.
Email to add your name to the list.

Mellow rides 1st Sat and 3rd Sun of the month, a relaxed 10-12 mph ride for beginner riders, volunteers are always welcome and most needed ! Email if you can help and check our website for details.

Groups: We usually have a slow, medium and fast group for each distance, please choose your group carefully so you don’t disrupt the momentum of the group by either being too fast for it or too slow.

Clothing: Club colours whenever possible please. The link to Endura’s custom kit website is below, if you need a logon email Rob at If your heading on a trip, or just want to fly the colours at the social night, get the BCC Polo, link below too.

Bikes: Mudguards season is over…enjoy, but please make sure you have appropriate and serviceable tires for the roads round here, even in summer months they can still be flinty, lightweight race tires are not recommended..

ICE tags or Road ID: Please make sure you have a prominently displayed ID tag with emergency numbers in case of a road incident. If you need an ICE tag, please come see me or Rob Jones at a pre-ride meet. Ensure your BC membership page is updated with an emergency contact.

Incidents: In the case of an accident, however small, please immediately report it to the club welfare officer

Ride safe,
